Stephen Phillips from San Francisco, United StatesBeautiful, Paco - I love images that can have you lost in time. Very nice. 23 Jul 2008 5:22am Mirko Herzner from Mühlheim am Main, GermanyA really nice place for a cemetery. Picture combines the beauty of the landscape with the silence of the place. Reminds me of remote locations visited on various travels... 23 Jul 2008 6:41am grouser from Ludlow, United KingdomInteresting shot. Are the gravestones a particular local style? The mountain in the background looks like the one Cezanne spent a lot of time painting. 23 Jul 2008 9:44am @grouser: Yes, these gravestones are typical of the basque culture, southwest of France and northwest of Spain. Prieto from Talavera de la Reina (Toledo), SpainLa verdad es que es casi un placer caminar por este cementerio. Es la primera vez que veo uno igual. Interesante, muy interesante. 23 Jul 2008 11:53am ManuelaR from Hainburg, GermanyThis is a very interesting place with very uncommon gravestones! Thanks for sharing. 23 Jul 2008 1:45pm @ManuelaR: These gravestones are typical of the basque culture, southwest of France and northwest of Spain. dj.tigersprout from San Bruno, United Statesvery beautiful headstones -- seems a well respected and peaceful place. 23 Jul 2008 3:47pm Michael Skorulski from Cigel, Hong KongYour image is lovely with excellent crisp detail and excellent DOF. The designs on the tombstones are fabulous. 23 Jul 2008 6:23pm Scotfot from Kabul, AfghanistanA very interesting image. In Scotland the very oldest gravestones are discoid like these, however they are much older - from the 1600's! 23 Jul 2008 7:00pm Pep Mir from SpainUna foto que creo recordar, me gustó entonces y me gusta ahora, tienes verdes muy bonitos y documentas un cementerio que al menos para mi era desconocido. 23 Jul 2008 7:00pm Koldo from Sopelana, SpainPreciosa foto, a mi me pilla cerca pero todavía no he estado por alli. Los verdes tipicos del Norte. 23 Jul 2008 8:09pm António Pires from Lisbon, PortugalInteresting the shapes of these gravestones. I've seen once in a photo by Perry Hermans a similar gravestone in Ireland. Scotfot speaks of gravestones like these in Scotland from 1600's. Can it be a common heritage (Celtic?)? 23 Jul 2008 8:25pm damian from Murowana Goślina, Polandque pasa tio? :) 23 Jul 2008 8:39pm Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomOnline again :) Hi Paco, thanks for the comments. Very good image here, nicely composed. You've captured the serene atmosphere in this photo, very beautiful. I like the shape of the headstones. Looks like a really old graveyard. Thanks for your compliments! 24 Jul 2008 4:09am Andrew Gould from Sydney, AustraliaThis is a delightful image. The are so many layers of interest from the foreground to the mountains, and the soft look of the light is beautiful. 24 Jul 2008 11:00am Laurent from Lyon, Franceje reconnais bien là les fameuses pierres tombales basques avec même une croix basque sur celle de gauche 24 Jul 2008 9:40pm Damon Schreiber from Toronto, CanadaWow, those are great.
