gorgeous -- a splendid view overlooking the canal -- i can only imagine the wonder glimpses of life that can be viewed from here -- so calming!! so historic!! i have never been to italy -- but this is one VERY good reason to put it on my list: to have a view like this for at least one week of my life! bravo!!!

It's nice to see a picture of Venice that does not include St Marks or the Doge's Palace - it's easy to forget that people live there as well. I have been once a couple of years ago, on the wettest day for 60 years! I will go back to see it properly one day.
